About me

Hello! I’m Simon.

I am Year 1 (ages 5-6) teacher in County Durham in the UK, having previously taught Year 2, Year 3 and Year 5.  I am also a member of the school Senior Leadership Team and the SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-Ordinator).

Having grown up in Northern Ireland, I moved to Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 2005 to study Modern Languages at Newcastle University. This was followed by my teacher training through the Graduate Teacher Programme.

This blog is to chronicle my life as a classroom teacher, where I can reflect on my teaching and share my ideas with other teachers.
