Google Moonshot Summit – July 2015

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

Margaret Mead – Cultural Anthropologist

Today I received a very exciting email: I’ve been invited to attend the Google Moonshot Summit in Amsterdam next month. This has come very much out of the blue (or should it be out of the red, given that it’s in Amsterdam?).

When I first received the email, I must admit that I had to Google the event to find out what it’s about, as I didn’t know very much. This is what Google says:

It appears to me that a group of educators will meet in Amsterdam and come up with ideas to improve educational experiences for children all around the world. These ideas won’t be quick fixes and they might not necessarily come to fruition, but if a seed is planted, it could grow into something fantastic and extremely worthwhile.

I’m honoured to have been invited to attend, having previously attended the Google Teacher Academy in 2012. I look forward to blogging about it in the run-up to the summit and on the day itself.
